The Houston Galleria, located near the intersection of Westheimer and Post Oak Blvd, is a large shopping mall that contains several high end restaurants, apparel stores, a hotel, an ice skating rink, and a variety of other small stores. Some of the famous anchor stores in the area include Dilliards, Neiman Marcus, and Saks 5th Avenue. One of the newest steakhouses in Houston; Del Frisco's; fronts Westheimer and is adjacent to the Westin Hotel. In fact, the Houston Galleria Mall is divided into four sections(I,II,III, IV).

There is always a high volume of traffic in the area as the Galleria Mall is not the only place of interest in the area. Just outside of the mall are a plethora of other restaurants, office buildings, and other attractions that cause a huge amount of congestion. The Williams Tower is the tallest building in Houston outside of the downtown area. It is composed of 64 stories, and an adjacent water tower is 64 total feet, symbolizing the number of stories of the skyscraper. The galleria area also contains several loft and apartment properties for rent. The main highways in the area include Highway 59, the 610 Loop, and Interstate 10.

Thousands of renters and homeowners have descended upon the area as it offers just about every amenity and feature possible. Custom home builders and developers have seen the surge in demand for many properties for rent or for sale and have responded accordingly.

Some of the high rises offer astounding views of the city including the downtown Houston skyline and the medical center towers and hospitals. The fitness centers rival those of state of the art gymnasiums. Free weights, cardiovascular machines, flat screen televisions, are available for everyone. Many of these properties employ a person fitness trainer as a service for the members.
